Virginia Beach, VA: Come "swing with the King" at the 13h Annual King Neptune's Golf Tournament. Hosted by the Virginia Beach Neptune Festival, the tournament will be held Tuesday, May 20, 2008, for the first time ever at the beautiful Bayville Golf Course. Tournament proceeds benefit events and activities of the 35st Annual Neptune Festival. The event repeatedly sells out and is limited to 36 foursomes (144 players) this year.
The pristine Bayville Golf Course is located at 4137 First Court Road off of Shore Drive in Virginia Beach. The course is an exquisite and challenging 7,138-yard course with few trees, open landscape and water that plays a large role in the design of the course. Bayville features some of the best greens in Virginia.
The tournament is a Captain's Choice Shotgun start at 12:00 p.m. A raffle, awards, and dinner follow the tournament at 5:30 p.m. Tournament prizes will be awarded to the top three teams in each flight.
Three different foursome packages are available, The Royal Package $1250, The King's Package $1,000 and The 4-some Package $775. The individual player's fee is $195 and individuals are welcome. Each year, the Neptune Festival attracts hundreds of thousands of people to the Virginia Beach oceanfront. Attendance in 2007 was estimated in excess of a half a million, generating approximately $18 million in economic impact for the City of Virginia Beach. Now in its 35th year, the Virginia Beach Neptune Festival is produced by a private non-profit organization and directed by a volunteer Board of Directors.
