Virginia Beach. There’s a double dose of Hallowe’en fun coming to Town Center Plaza. Saturday, October 25th is “Town and Treat” between 1:00 PM and 5:00 PM on the Plaza and among the neighboring stores. The younger set will enjoy games, activities, trick-or-treating and pumpkin art – all free and provided by the merchants of Town Center. On Friday, October 31st, the bigger ghouls (and boys!) take over. Between 7:00 PM and 11:00 PM the Plaza and adjoining businesses will be a roiling cauldron of music, costumes and fun.
Families will have a full afternoon on the 25th to enjoy spooky storytelling, magicians, fire juggling, stilt walkers and more in a safe, outdoor setting – with lots of free parking for Mom and Dad. Participating stores will have plenty of “treats” for the youngsters, and it will be a ghoulish good time.
When the sun goes down on All Hallow’s Eve, the bigger kids turn out in their best costumes to enjoy the music of “Bimini Road” and “Borderline Crazy” in the Plaza or the entertainment in the fine restaurants of Town Center, and to enter the “Bead It to Win It” costume contest. While they’re at it, they can help determine which restaurant can brew up the best martini and crown “Town Center’s Official Demonic Tonic”.

WARMING COMMUNITIES . . . ONE COAT AT A TIME
Winter is approaching, and no one should have to go without such a basic necessity as a coat! The Westin Virginia Beach Town Center is collecting clean, reusable coats and jackets to assist the One Warm Coat community service effort. Coats of all shapes sizes are welcome and children's sizes are most needed. One Warm Coat is dedicated to distributing reusable coats, free of charge, directly to local children and adults. The program is a wonderful way for you and your family to pass along coats and jackets that you no longer need.
The Westin Virginia Beach has made donating a coat simple. Just bring your clean, reusable coats and jackets to (The Westin) 4535 Commerce St. from 1:00pm to 5:00pm on Saturday October 25th. The Westin Virginia Beach will take care of the rest. All donated coats will be given to Union Mission in Norfolk for distribution to the community in need.
“We are thrilled that so many people across the country have received coats to help them stay warm. It’s such a simple and easy way to show you care for people in need. ” says Lois Pavlow, founder of OWC.
One Warm Coat is a community service effort assisting in the collection of clean, reusable coats and jackets for donation to local individuals free of charge. Since its inception in 1992, more than 400,000 coats have been provided to those in need at no cost.
