Bobbi Gunn has spent over forty years studying and creating art that reflects her love of the natural world. With the Lynnhaven River in her backyard, she has had the opportunity to observe the way our environment changes over time. Working in oil, pastel, and gouache, each painting is often a composition of sketches, source photos, visual, and memory of the subject. Her work has been featured in numerous shows, galleries, and private collections across Virginia and the country. She draws inspiration from Albrecht Durer’s “A Hare”, John Singer Sargent’s colors and brushwork, Turner’s glazing, Robert Bateman’s mastery of nature, and Jamie Wyeth’s inventiveness with techniques and mediums.
